Sweet Pea and Sacot. I will miss you so much but this is something that you have looked forward to for a long time. It’s just that it got here so soon. I am praying for your Visa to get here tomorrow (Sept 19) God has performed bigger miracles that this one. I am so happy for you but sort of broken hearted at the same time. We’ll be praying for you this new chapter of your life.
The Oochie servers are down. Can you fix them? Just kidding.
I haven’t heard anything from you guys in a few days so I’m asusming you’ve been completely immersed in the Spanish culture and have forgotten how to read and write in English.
I keep checking this web but nothing since 9/22. You didn’t forget us did you? I know you didn’t but can’t wait to read more and pictures too. I’m sure you are having a fiesta time.
Still missing you. Just knowing you are so far away makes me miss you more. I guess you are having a wonderful time. Very busy, you two are. I sure would like to tag along on your adventures.
Was just thinking about you and had to check in. I’m glad to hear y’all are doing so well. You’ll have wonderful stories to tell for years to come! Miss you bunches, Julie
Hey guys so glad top hear you are having a good time. So like it’s been eventful to say the least. My friend and I are still hoping to come visit over spring break we are waiting for the ok from her parents. Well I’ve got to go I’m actually in my chemistry lad class right now oops. Hopeful I’ll see you soon. God bless

Hi, it’s me, Penny. Just been layin’ around missing you both and chewing up my toys. There’s nothin’ to do here like what you are doin’. I looked at all your pictures and I think the water ones looked like the most fun. I think I’d look good in a boat. I love you. I love everybody!

Hey Karie,
Just finished reading your blog and looking at the picutures. What an incredible opportunity for you and Scott! I’d love to do that someday….for now, the biggest adventure for me was moving to Maine! Ha! With a 2 1/2 year old son and another baby on the way in April, I guess no big move is slated in the near future, but you never know what life will bring. Cherish every moment - I’m envious of you! Keep in touch!!!
Hi Karioli and Scotty! Just wanted to let you know I’m thinking of you and enjoying your blog entries. I just logged on today for the first time actually, b/c Jamie reminded me about it last night. It looks like you’re having a great time…I have to admit I’m horribly jealous! I’ll have to live vicariously through you too. So have enough fun for 3. lol
Hey guys! Awesome site, even more awesome adventure!!
Scott, I got your email and no worries, I think I am one of the worst at keeping in touch. I just wanted to let you know that I came by and checked out the site to see what you have been up to. Very cool!!
Hopefully we can catch up in person after your once-in-a-lifetime European adventure brings you back to Cali.
Loved your flat! It’s huge. Well, compared to the 100 or so sq ft on wheels we’re living in now anyway. Penny’s email was great. We hope she sends more! — Mom
Hi Karie. A quick hello from an old Pac-West mate. What an amazing adventure you’re on. I think it’s wonderful that you and Scott are sharing this with others. Enjoy every minute! By the way, Brent and I took a European cruise in June, and Barcelona was one of our top two favorite spots. If you get a chance go to Mason Jesus (restaurant). We enjoyed it.
I really enjoyed reading about all your adventures and seeing all the pictures. It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. Don’t forget where home is! I really miss you two. Thanks for the pictures and the puzzle, although the puzzle was missing 23 pieces so I don’t know what the picture was of! Love you both.

Hello Karie and Scott,
How are you? I really miss you around here Karie and Diane gets so excited when she receives an email from you. I loved reading about your Italian adventures. Blessings!
Paula

Hey guys! We just got back from our honeymoon last week and I wanted to check out how you were doing. Looks like you’re having a blast! I am so jealous you got to see my David (I snuck several pics of him too! So incredible in person, right?!)
Anyway, keep updating your site so that we can live vicariously through you while we are recovering from the fires! (luckily our place in Mira Mesa is just fine but as you can imagine, it’s been a stressful time). We had a wonderful wedding and we plan to post our honeymoon pics from Playa Del Carmen and Boston online soon.
HAVE FUN!!!
Sue & Luke
Great map in the header - nice touch!
Might have to do the same when my travels take me further.
Thanks for the inspiration for maps and travelling, good luck in your travels.
It looks and sounds like you two are having the best time! I’m so happy for both of you to get to do and see such amazing things. Keep the pictures coming so I can live through you without leaving my desk here in boring Stockton!
Hello to my favorite world travelers!
I LOVE checking in on you and reading about all your adventures. I forgot to mention it in my emails but one of our doctors was from Barcelona. She was compling a list of “must see and do” for me, but we left before I saw her again. Anyway, keep on entertaining all of us normal, boring people stateside!
Sarah and Fam
Hey! Sounds like you guys are having a lot of fun. I think that when I am older I might want to do this myself! I’m taking Italian in Highschool, and it sounds so beautiful! I hope you guys enjoy the rest of your stay there! Love you,
Tayler
Just enjoyed reading your latest updates. The treasure hunts sound like fun and exactly like something Scott would find to do! We are so excited about coming to see you guys in a few weeks and look forward to being shown the sites of Spain by our own “local” guides! See you soon!
MOM
Hi Guys! I just awoke from a nap where I dreaming about you. The three of us were taking walks around big old buildings and you were throwing coins in a fountain and I would jump in the water to retreive them. Then we were going all around the city with your GPS, you would find the general area of the hidden treasure and I was there to sniff it out! What fun! It was a great dream, too bad I had to wake up so soon! Keep the updates coming so that I have more dream material! I love you. I love everybody.

It’s been following your adventure in Spain and I loved the YouTube video you did - tricked me for sure! Some day, I hope to have the opportunity to live overseas as you both are doing. Happy Thanksgiving!
You guys crack me up!! I was sure I was going to be a Grandmother when I read your email (even if a Rudy Giuliani way of telling us). I was actually even more excited at the visa news. Congrats!!!!– Mom

Hello Karie! Just wanted to tell you I really enjoy your blog. I am so envious of all your traveling!!! I am actually going to Germany, France and Italy in about 3 weeks and though it won’t compare to your trip, I am extremely excited as I have never been overseas before. Anyway, your blog is interesting. You’re a good writer…..Maybe you should write a book when you’re done with the trip!
Happy Traveling!

Hey there, wow… this is awesome and I am so jealous!! Your travels look amazing and so exciting, you will have to tell me how in the world you planned this trip and planned a year off work.. I want all the details so I can start planning mine!
Awesome and I am happy for you.. at least one of us gets away and has this opportunity.
I know I’ve said it a few times, but seriously what you guys are doing is amazing. The chance to live and travel abroad for a year and everything you get to see and experience. I really don’t know how to describe it other than amazing. I’m so glad you two are embarking on this adventure. I’m just lucky to live vicariously through your blog postings. You guys are out traveling the world and I’m sitting here working out our budget. The budget is no Berlin Wall adventure, but in the end I have a pretty amazing experience of my own behind me rocking away in his swing. By the way I read your blogs to him and tell him all about his godparents’ latest fascinating adventure.
I know you guys leave again soon, where’s the next stop(s)?
Once again, I have thoroughly enjoyed reading the blog on Berlin. The pictures were amazing too! I passed on the website to my brother-in-law who spent his childhood growing up in Germany. I thought he might enjoy the read as well. You are a great writer…after all your adventures, you should consider writing a book!
I don’t know if you remember me, Karie. I used to be Jill Rogers, CLC student (along with Rich, Jason, Amber a.k.a. Chevy and others) Now, I am Jill Vestal (married to Lonnie), mother of two. I visit Kassie Duttons blogspot from time to time, where I got the link to your blog. WOW! I am truly jealous. You know if you have kids, you can’t do this kind of thing. Well, I guess you could, it would be much more difficult though. Enjoy your travels and keep those of us living vicariously through you updated. We (I think I can speak for everyone) love it!
Just found your blog via travelblogs. Wow, sounds fantastic what you are doing and not too dissimilar to what me and my family are doing. Will enjoy catching up with your blog now that I have found it and if ok, will add it to my blog list.
Feel free to check out our blog - we are currently in Provence. Heading to Spain in July time.
My husband also has an obsession with the Rubik’s cube at the moment!!!!
Hey Guys! (but I think this one is for Karie, with scott’s valuable input, of course) As if you don’t have enough to do, I was thinking maybe you should write a blog about what you are feeling right now. Trip winding down, ready to go home, still haven’t done (blank), whatever. Plus, maybe some insight as to how you’ve planned your trips along the way (the montenegro visit was a great example). Do you get bored sometimes? Conquered the grocery store? Language barrier a major problem or doing OK? As an armchair traveler via your adventures, some of the nuts-and-bolts of your experience would be a fun read.
PS. What exactly are ‘countires’?
We’re enjoying all your adventures–what a temendous experience. Liked photos of Eiffel Tower at night, world market with all the colorful fruits/veggies, and Marco Polo’s “house.”–plus all the rest. Scott, we noticed your parents celebrated 35th anniv. in Nov.–us too in May!! Take care.
OMG…the Running of the Bulls blog & photos were incredible. I felt like I was there! You were both having so much fun. But, Scott, I was more frightened of your “chasing of the soccer ball” video than any of the bull stuff. — Mom
I just bumped into your blog and I am fascinated.
I am leaving for Barcelona o October 7th to pursue a Master’s Degree in the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona. I am from Puerto Rico so there will not be a language barrier (oher than catalan, but I think I’m gonna be OK). I also have a blog and wanted to turn it into a travel blog when I got there.
I wish I had the money to travel as much as you guys have.. but I am planning to try it.
I will be waiting for more updates…
